Highlights from March 24
BASEBALL
Matt Millar hit a home run and finished with three RBIs as Buchanan gave Clovis West star J.D. Salles his second consecutive loss in the Bears’ 8-4 victory against the Golden Eagles.
Memorial’s John Bonadelle tripled to tie the score at 2-2 in the seventh inning, but with the bases loaded in the top of the eighth, Fresno High’s Nat Samaniego hit a sharp ball up the middle against a drawn-in infield to score two runs. Fresno pulled away and won 6-2 in eight innings.
B.J. Bondietti’s run-scoring single in the sixth inning lifted Bullard to a 3-2 victory over Edison in a County/Metro Athletic Conference game.
Gary Baker had a two-run double in a four-run first inning as Lindsay picked up its sixth consecutive win with a 5-3 victory over Corcoran in an East Sequoia League game.
Carlos Flores scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh inning as Washington defeated Selma 4-3.
Teddy Nunes and Ryan Nalbandian each drove in a run in the sixth inning, helping Fowler to a 7-5 victory over Yosemite.
SOFTBALL
Ashley Warren scored on a error in the eighth inning in Bullard’s 2-1 victory over Clovis East.
