Two arrested in Clovis drug investigation
Two people are in custody on drug-trafficking charges after a one-day joint investigation between the Clovis Police Department and agents from the federal Drug Enforcement Administration.
The man and woman were arrested at 8 p.m. Monday at the Copper Beach apartment complex on Gettysburg Avenue in Clovis.
When officers searched their apartment, they found 1 pound of cocaine, packaging materials, professional scales, a press and powder used to cut the drugs.
Clovis police spokeswoman Janet Stoll-Lee said the federal agents began the investigation, but turned it over to local officials because the amount of drugs was not sufficient for federal charges.
