Clovis walks the walk

On July 1 I joined an exceptional team of people as the Superintendent of Clovis Unified School District. I have truly enjoyed my first two weeks in Clovis. My initial impressions are that this is a community that does what it says it will do and cares deeply about children. I am thankful to have my own two children attending Clovis schools as the staff members I have met so far take immense pride in the work that they do for our students.

We have moved into a wonderful neighborhood, where our neighbors are helping us learn about and appreciate the “Clovis Way of Life.” Every day we meet people who are thoughtful, gracious and generous with their time. I continue to spend my time listening carefully to the staff, students and community members who have contributed to the success of the district. Their insight and genuine excitement about the work of the district has been a valuable part of my initial time in the District, and I am excited about how I will help move Clovis Unified along on its path of continuous improvement in service to the students of our community.
