THE BUZZ
Buchanan continued to roll with a 3-1 victory over Bakersfield last week. The Bears have beaten much of the best the Bakersfield area has to offer (Tehachapi, Liberty and Bakersfield), but will they remain dominant when the rugged Tri-River Athletic Conference starts in October?
Clovis West continues its meat-grinder of a preleague season this week with visits to Christian Brothers-Sacramento and the Nike Tournament of Champions in Phoenix.
Centennial is the week’s biggest gainer coming off a Highland Tournament championship run that featured victories over Bakersfield and Liberty.
Tehachapi, powered by Sarah Horcher (80 kills on the season) rolled through the Wolf Pack Invitational last weekend in Bakersfield with a 5-0 record.
A Division IV showdown looms Saturday when Central Valley Christian travels to Bakersfield Christian.
