GIRLS TENNIS
Shawna Ernst, twice beaten by Central’s Dao Chang in the Tri-River Athletic Conference, registered a 6-4, 6-3 victory over the Grizzlies this time as No. 7-seeded Clovis East defeated No. 10 Central 6-3 in the first round of the Division I playoffs. Ernst teamed with Jessie Allen for a 6-3, 6-3 doubles win for the Timberwolves, who will visit No. 2 Clovis West in Thursday’s quarterfinals.
