Clovis Chamber of Commerce celebrates area businesses’ good news

If there’s a light at the end of the tunnel, it’s being created by some Clovis Chamber members. Read about this month’s Good News.

In October, the Golden Living Center of Clovis was awarded the step II Quality Award from the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living in recognition of its commitment to continuous improvements in patient-centered care.
It  held a reception at its facility Oct.  23.

Snowflake Designs had its leotards featured on television again. This time on the CBS drama, “Three Rivers.” The show aired Nov. 8. Snowflake donated leotards, grips and gym bags to supply the gymnastic team, the center of the story.

Pelco presents its Toys for Tots Holiday Fun Run, Dec. 5 at California State University, Fresno. Proceeds from this 5K race will benefit the U.S. Marine Corps’ Central Valley Toys for Tots Toy Drive.

A ribbon cutting was held on Sept. 23 for the grand opening of JEM Restaurant Management Corporation’s second new location this year. The Wendy’s restaurant is located at Cedar and Herndon.

Institute of Technology reports several job promotions and additions to its staff. Chris Schultz has been promoted to Assistant Director Student Services; Chris Ortega has been promoted to Financial Aid Officer and Theresa Costa was named the BrightStar Education Group Employee of the Month for October. She is the Director of Financial Aid. Jamie Hones has been hired as Student Success Leader and Evett Ware, Joyce Simon and Jesse Farias have joined the faculty.

The Clovis Rotary Club announces the start of ticket sales for the 19th Annual Clovis Rotary Crab Feed and Auction Feb. 20.  All proceeds go back into supporting local charities, community programs and youth projects.

Lisa Anderson of Workplace Massages Inc. tells us the company was invited to the Twitter office in San Francisco in September to do chair massages its employees. A conference room was transformed into a quiet, meditative place for the massages. The satisfied employees are asking for a return visit.
