Sanger, Clovis schools nominated for Blue Ribbon

Two Sanger Unified elementary schools and one in Clovis Unified were among 35 statewide nominated as National Blue Ribbon schools.

The blue ribbon program recognizes elementary and secondary schools that are both academically superior and have demonstrated dramatic gains in student achievement, while serving economically disadvantaged populations.

Centerville and Fairmont schools in Sanger Unified and Jefferson Elementary in Clovis were nominated by state education officials. The nominations are the first step in a program run by the U.S. Department of Education.

Sanger Unified’s John Wash Elementary was named a National Blue Ribbon School this academic year along with three Fresno Unified magnet schools: Edison Computech, Bullard TALENT and Manchester G.A.T.E.
