Local briefs: Three Bulldog gang members arrested

Fresno police arrested three Bulldog gang members and recovered two loaded firearms Friday night, authorities said.

An 18-year-old Fresno man was arrested for a no-bail felony warrant for carrying a concealed firearm.

Another 18-year-old Fresno man was arrested for being a gang member in possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm not registered to him and committing a felony while out on bail.

A juvenile also was charged with possession of a concealed weapon and being a minor in possession of ammunition.

Police recovered a .380-caliber handgun and a .38-caliber handgun, Sgt. Steve Crawford said.

Gunmen rob pizza eatery in Earlimart

Two gunmen robbed a pizza restaurant late Friday on the 300 block of North Church Road in Earlimart, taking an unknown amount of money, authorities said.

The men fled the area and are being sought.

The Tulare County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.

Boy, 16, shot while playing football

A man described as Hispanic and between the ages of 17 and 21 fired shots at a group playing football Saturday afternoon at Millcreek Park, authorities said.

A 16-year-old boy was shot and later taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center. The suspect fled in a vehicle that was waiting nearby.

The Visalia Police Department is investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call detective L. Hickey at (559) 713-4727 or Sgt. J. McIntosh at (559) 713-4234.

Kettleman City man arrested after chase

A 40-year-old Kettleman City man who was sought for multiple felony warrants was arrested Saturday evening after he tried to flee by jumping into an aqueduct near Highway 41 and Quail Avenue in Kings County, senior Deputy Jaime Ramirez said.

When a deputy spotted the man, he fled to his nearby car and drove away.

A short pursuit ensued, and then the man left his vehicle and jumped into a nearby aqueduct, Ramirez said. He swam to the other side and then fled into an orchard.

He then ran back to the aqueduct but was apprehended before he could re-enter.

The man was slightly injured during the arrest, Ramirez said.

Lane on Clovis Ave. to close for 2 weeks

The left-hand southbound lane on Clovis Avenue between East Inyo Avenue and East Kings Canyon Road will be closed for about two weeks for the installation of a new water main for the Fancher Creek Development, city officials said.

Motorists should expect some delays.

Food drive Monday to aid San Joaquin

The Salvation Army and Islamic Cultural Center, along with radio sponsors Mega Oldies 97.9 and Peak Broadcasting, have joined forces to hold the Need Knows No Creed Food Drive to help feed the farming community in the city of San Joaquin.

The event will take place at the Islamic Cultural Center from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday.

The community is invited to drop off canned food items to the location, said Capt. Dwaine Breazeale of The Salvation Army.

Sandbags available

Tulare County has three locations where residents can get filled sandbags through Friday in anticipation of the winter storms that could hit later today.

They are Goshen Fire Station at 30901 Road 67 in Visalia, Lindsay Fire Station at 19603 Avenue 228 in Lindsay, and Porterville Road Yard at 1243 W. Grand Ave. in Porterville.

    Yeah that’s 3 more gang members out of our streets. Keep getting them police. You have my full support if you kill any of these monsters as well. Gangs are a menace to society and should be treated as such.
