DUI alleged in fatal crash near Fresno

A Fresno driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after a fatal collision Sunday west of Fresno, the California Highway Patrol said.

The CHP said Michael Freeman, 23, was westbound on McKinley Avenue about 3:30 p.m. when he collided with a Nissan Frontier southbound on Highway 145.

The 76-year-old man driving the Nissan died at Community Regional Medical Center.

Freeman had major injures and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where he was arrested.

A passenger in Freeman’s vehicle, Dustin Perger, 22, of Clovis, also had major injuries.
