Highlights from March 6

BASEBALL

Brennen Jacobsen stole home in the bottom of the eighth to give Memorial a 5-4 victory over Liberty-Madera Ranchos at the Central Classic.

Casey Chenoweth pitched a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts and belted a home run in the top of the 13th in Sierra’s 4-3 victory over Le Grand at the Central Valley Diamond Classic.

SOFTBALL

Kelsey Dodd had two RBIs as Buchanan held off Madera 5-1 in the championship game of its own tournament.

Sydney White pitched a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts to lift Clovis West to a 2-0 victory against Lemoore at the Buchanan Tournament. White struck out 11 in a 2-1 loss to Madera.

Memorial’s Katie Schafer struck out nine and Madison Green hit a homer and drove in two runs in a 3-0 win over Le Grand at the Buchanan Tournament.

The Fresno Bee
