Fresno’s population estimate tops 500,000
The housing bust may have slowed growth throughout California, but not by enough to stop Fresno from reaching a historic milestone. An 80-year-old Clovis resident was sentenced Thursday to 1 year and 9 months in federal prison for tax evasion. David J. Edwards admitted to authorities that between October 2000 and November 2005 he took steps to evade his 1999 income taxes of around $205,456.
