Clovis boy, 2, drowns in family pool
A 2-year-old boy drowned late Tuesday afternoon in a backyard swimming pool in Clovis, authorities said.
The boy was not breathing when police and firefighters arrived at the home on the 200 block of Dennis Drive shortly after 5:30 p.m., said Clovis police spokeswoman Janet Stoll-Lee.
He was taken to Clovis Community Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The boy’s mother told police that she thought he went outside through a screen door to be with his three older siblings, Stoll-Lee said. But his siblings had stayed inside. The boy’s father found him face down in the above-ground pool.
