State Route 180 Construction Update/McCall Re-Opens & Academy will Close

Starting Wednesday, Sept. 8, Academy Ave. will be CLOSED for 2-months to northbound traffic at the intersection of Kings Canyon/SR-180 to construct new roadway lanes.  Academy Ave. will be Open south of SR-180 to motorists. 

In addition, on 9-8-10, McCall Ave. will Re-Open to motorists with intermittent 5-minute delays for a 2-week truck hauling operation.

All motorists are advised to use DETOUR at Belmont or Jensen Avenues to avoid the Construction Zone and use Temperance or McCall Avenues to travel north or southbound from SR-180.

CHP is enforcing 25 MPH posted speed limit through the Construction Zone.

This $27 million Expressway project is funded with local “Measure C” dollars leverage with Federal Stimulus Money and is scheduled to be completed in Summer 2011, weather permitting.
