RiverView Shopping Center Announces Major Tenant

Lassens Natural Foods and Vitamins has selected RiverView Shopping Center at Friant and Fort Washington for their first Fresno location.  Joining the other nine California Lassens stores, Lassens RiverView will occupy the space formerly utilized by Bentley’s Market.

Aaron Samansky, owner of the neighboring Sierra Running Company store, was the first to welcome Lassens to RiverView, “All of us here at RiverView are thrilled to have Lassens Natural Foods and Vitamins as our business neighbor.  RiverView is fast becoming the #1 neighborhood destination and our customers will be so pleased to have the opportunity to shop at Lassens.”  Samansky emphasized,  “Lassens will clearly fill a growing need in the Valley for the finest organic foods and a comprehensive selection of the highest quality vitamins and supplements, bringing more healthy choices for all of us.”

Lassens is renown for being the leader in providing healthy choices of fresh organic and local foods in their “purest state”, featuring produce that is 95% certified organic and only natural or organic beef, poultry and pork, cut daily and kept fresh. In addition, Lassens’ focus centers on providing products for a healthy lifestyle, making it the perfect fit for RiverView shoppers.  Being located directly across Friant from Woodard Park, RiverView’s focus remains on providing a healthy destination for their neighborhood shoppers. Lassens will join the other tenants at RiverView including Fort Washington Fitness, Tri-Sport Bicycles, Chapala Grill, SportClips and the newest addition, Chef Vache’s Yalla Yalla Mediterranean Bistro.

Family owned and operated, Lassens has a strong history of being dedicated to their loyal customers.  Original owners Oda and Hilmar Lassen opened their first natural food and vitamin store in Camarillo in 1971. They had a simple desire to provide the community they lived in with a place they could come and find wholesome, low-processed foods. Since then, Lassens has expanded to nine California stores, seven of which are owned by their son Peter Lassen, including the newest one in Fresno.

Lassens is especially unique in their outreach to the communities where they do business.  A highly trained staff and their ongoing series of up-to-date healthy lifestyle informative features, including on-site health and nutrition forums and lectures on relevant topics such as diabetes, safer cosmetics and the benefits of a healthy diet, have earned them the reputation of knowing exactly what Lassens’ customers desire.

Lassens anticipates an early summer 2011 opening and will provide approximately 30 jobs.
