Let’s Get Ready to Rodeo! 97th Annual Clovis Rodeo Begins Tomorrow
The 97th Annual Clovis Rodeo opens tomorrow night with the return of the PBR Bull Riding Tour Pro-Division beginning at 7:00 p.m. Three days of PRCA rodeo action will continue through Sunday, April 24. Fans can still purchase tickets by visiting www.clovisrodeo.com or stopping by the rodeo’s ticket office between 9:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. at the rodeo grounds in the heart of downtown Clovis.
The roster of bull riders competing at Clovis on Thursday night includes some of the top names in the sport of professional bull riding’s current standings, including Ben Jones, JB Mauney, Shane Proctor, Pete Farley, Reese Cates, Luke Snyder, Brian Canter, Ross Coleman. Bull rider Cord McCoy, a fan favorite who is known to crowds for his competition on CBS television’s Amazing Race will also take a chance at an 8-second ride on Thursday, April 21.
PRCA Rodeo action opens on Friday, April 22 with visits by more than 500 cowboys and cowgirls, unprecedented eight-time All Around Cowboy Trevor Brazile along with World Champions and leaders in the sport’s current standings including Luke Branquinho, Sherry Cervi, Dean Gorsuch, Ryan Gray, Shawn Hogg, Jesse Kruse, Will Lowe, Bobby Mote, Lindsay Sears, Patrick Smith, Cody Wright and the Wright brothers.
Clovis is a one of the top three rodeos in California and top fifteen across the nation.Premiere bucking stock and a total winning purse in excess of $300,000 makes the Clovis Rodeo an attractive stop for cowboys and cowgirls trying to earn the points it takes to make it to the National Finals Rodeo held every December.
The 97th Clovis Rodeo officially opens on Thursday, April 21 with the return of the PBR Bull Riding Pro-Division Tour. On Friday, April 22 rodeo action will begin at 5:30 p.m. with some of the best cowboys and bucking stock in professional rodeo followed by a concert with rising country star Easton Corbin. Two days of rodeo action will continue through the weekend, along with the popular Clovis Rodeo parade on Saturday, April 23. Rodeo performances on Saturday and Sunday begin at 2:00 p.m.
