Spirit 88.9 Anniversary Party, featuring Clovis resident Rachel Belman
In celebration of 20 years on the air, Spirit 88.9 is excited to announce its anniversary party 7 p.m. Wednesday August 10 at the historic Visalia Fox Theatre.
This complimentary, family-friendly evening event will be filled with music, featuring a live concert with well-known Christian band Building 429. The acclaimed band was named 2005 New Artist of the Year by the Gospel Music Association after overwhelming success from the release of their Glory Defined album. Their latest album, Listen to the Sound, was released in May and the title track quickly climbed to #6 on the Billboard Christian Songs Chart.
Also included in the festivities is the winner of the Singer/Songwriter portion of the recent Spirit 88.9 “Sing Your Heart Out” competition. Rachel Belman, a local Clovis resident, will be performing live along with a video highlighting her performance at the Spirit West Coast Christian Music Festival.
Spirit 88.9/100.1 has been providing family-friendly Contemporary Christian music for the past ten years based purely on support from the local community. Spirit strives to encourage and unite followers of Christ while setting the example for non-believers to experience the message of Christ through music.
Bob and Judy Peart began in the late 1980′s with a burden for theCentral Valley. They began as two raisin & fruit farmers who believed that there was a need for a radio station that would broadcast Contemporary Christian music 24 hours per day/7 days a week. After several years of hard work, KDUV fm acquired its broadcast license in 1992.
