Motorcycle crash sends Clovis man to hospital

A motorcycle crash on Herndon Avenue in Clovis sent the rider to the hospital and landed a Clovis man in jail Saturday night.

The motorcycle rider, a 48-year-old Clovis man whose name was not released, was traveling south on Villa Avenue at Herndon Avenue just after 5 p.m. when a Nissan Sentra driven by a 24-year-old Clovis man pulled out in front of him, Clovis Police said.

The crash threw the motorcycle rider several feet through the air. He was taken to a local hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries, police said.

The driver of the Nissan was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving causing great bodily injury and was booked into Fresno County Jail.
