Central High softball stars lead County in 11-2 rout

County starting pitcher Lindsey Clarkson of Central picked up the win in County’s 11-2 victory over City on Wednesday.
That perfect game. That 4-0 win over Clovis West for the Central Section Division I softball title.
That obviously wasn’t enough for Lindsey Clarkson, Robyn Alvara and Scott Gorton of Central High.
That was evident in the 31st City/County All-Star Softball Game on Wednesday night at Bulldog Diamond, where Clarkson earned the win, Alvara hit a two-run double in an eight-run fourth inning and Gorton coached the County in an 11-2 rout.
The County was coming off 2-1 and 2-0 wins, but there would be no drama in this one after the early outburst, which also featured a two-run single by Demaree Rodriguez (Washington).
Clarkson, who delivered the perfect game for the first section softball title in Central history, gave up no earned runs and two hits in 41/3 innings. She struck out four and walked one.
