Shooting in Clovis sends two to hospital
Clovis police are investigating a shooting early Tuesday morning on the 300 block of West Barstow Avenue.
Officers went to an apartment just before 2:30 a.m. to check on a woman who called 911 to report that she was injured.
Investigators determined that a 19-year-old woman had argued with her 19-year-old boyfriend, who forced his way into a bedroom where she was hiding and shot her once in the head with a large-caliber handgun.
He went outside to hide the weapon, during which time the woman made her way to a phone and called for help, police said. When police arrived they found the man with an arm injury, which police believe was intentionally or accidentally self-inflicted.
The boyfriend was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and domestic battery and was booked into Fresno County Jail.
