Ex-Tulare wideout Marquess Wilson on Biletnikoff watch list
Washington State junior receiver Marquess Wilson (Tulare High) was named to the watch list for the Biletnikoff Award, given annually for the past 17 years to the nation’s top receiver.
He set school records with 82 receptions and 1,388 yards last season. He tied for the second-most in a season with 12 touchdowns. Wilson is coming off back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons.
The 10 semifinalists for the award will be announced Nov. 12, followed by the three finalists on Nov. 19. The winner will be announced Dec. 6.
Wilson also is on the watch list for the Maxwell Award, which goes to the most outstanding collegiate football player in the nation.
- Tennessee quarterback and ex-Kingsburg star Tyler Bray and USC punter Kyle Negrete (Clovis West) were nominated to the Allstate Good Works Team, recognizing accomplishments for off-the-field work.From the 117 nominees, two 11-player Good Works Teams will be selected and announced in late September.
