Fire forces evacuation at Aramark in east-central Fresno

A fire that erupted at the Aramark Uniform Services facility in east-central Fresno set off sprinklers Tuesday morning.

The blaze started about 9:15 a.m. on the 3300 block of North Sabre Avenue, near Shields and Clovis avenues.

Fire spokesman Sean Johnson said firefighters were able to get the fire under control in about 20 minutes.

However, several fire sprinklers were set off and firefighters had to mop up a lot of water in the room where the fire started.

Johnson said about 30 workers evacuated the building and two were treated for smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
