The skinny: Sunbirds make their NCAA debut against the Central Valley’s other Division II program in the Warriors. Fresno Pacific brings back 10 of its 11 starters from last season, including Golden State Athletic Conference MVP Paul Islas (16 goals, 12 assists). Other key returners from the 12-6 team include All-America midfielder Fabricio Nazare, forward Rodrigo Vianna, defender Adrian Arias and goalkeeper Steven Waite. … Stanislaus beat Fresno Pacific 4-1 last year in Turlock, part of an 11-6-2 season. Warriors return top scorer Daniel Kuczynski (6 goals, 1 assist). Defenders include Keith Ramirez (Clovis West High), Kyle Cadigan (Buchanan), Schad TenBroeck (Tulare Western) and Luis Hernandez (Madera).
