Clovis nursing home hit with gastrointestinal outbreak
Fresno County health officials confirmed an outbreak of gastrointestinal troubles at a Clovis nursing home.
An unknown number of patients were affected at the Willow Creek Healthcare Center, said David Luchini, the county’s community health division manager. He said his department will seek to obtain stool samples to determine what’s causing the problems, which he described as “not uncommon” in nursing homes. He added that he believes Willow Creek was taking proper steps to keep the illness from spreading.
Representatives at Willow Creek declined to answer questions about how many people were affected.
