Clovis gun range get more time to address noise complaints
Clovis City Council agreed Monday to give the owner of an indoor gun range more time to address noise complaints from unhappy neighbors.
At a short public hearing, the council voted unanimously to give Jacob Belemjian, the owner of the Firing Line, 180 days to reduce gunfire noise.
The 5-0 vote came after the Clovis Planning Commission held a seven-hour meeting on Feb. 26, where neighbors raised concerns about the noise reaching their quiet neighborhood and urged city officials to fix the problem.
The commission and neighbors reached a compromise giving the owner of the gun range more time to come up with a solution.
