“Let’s Talk Clovis”, Gage Family by Tom Gage
The Gage Drug Store, 454 Clovis Ave from 1946-1967, was the hub of social activities for Clovis High students as well as local citizens. Clovis Civil War Veterans
Our first knowledge of honoring veterans was verified by a program for a Decoration Day Service held on May 30, 1897 in Clovis. A ribbon, dated November 8,9,10, 1916, states: “Clovis welcomes the brave soldiers of ’61 and rejoices with them that the Union they restored still lives.” Clovis Civil War veterans were early pioneers of Clovis.
